Psychotherapy
Dr. Nicoll provides individual, couples, and family therapy services for adults across the lifespan, with a particular focus on aging-related issues, family caregiving, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and trauma recovery.

Dr. Nicoll employs evidence-based therapeutic approaches to help clients navigate the complexities of aging and mental health with an understanding of the unique challenges faced by older adults.
Dr. Nicoll has advanced training and certifications in several evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Existential Therapy, Grief and Bereavement Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).

Neuropsychological Assessment
A neuropsychological assessment is a comprehensive evaluation of how the brain is functioning. Dr. Nicoll administers standardized, validated tests that measure a wide range of cognitive abilities including memory, attention and concentration, processing speed, language, visuospatial skills, and executive functions such as planning and problem-solving.
Dr. Nicoll reviews the findings with her patients and family members and provides a written report that includes diagnostic impressions, a summary of cognitive strengths and weaknesses, specific recommendations, accommodations, and interventions.
Capacity Evaluation
Dr. Nicoll conducts capacity assessments of at-risk adults with diminished capacity. She works in collaboration with Adult Protective Services, law enforcement, professional fiduciaries, and attorneys with an unwavering commitment to the protection and prevention of abuse and exploitation of vulnerable adults.

Dr. Nicoll provides comprehensive assessments to determine whether individuals meet the statutory definition of an incapacitated adult and provides expert testimony in guardianship and conservatorship hearings. Dr. Nicoll evaluates testamentary capacity and investigates cases of undue influence to ensure the safeguarding of at-risk adults.
